Hello there, I'm Honcho! I'm a handsome, confident Shiba Inu who’s on the lookout for my forever home. I love being close to my person—there's nowhere else I'd rather be—but I’m also a dog who appreciates a bit of personal space, so I prefer if other dogs keep their sniffing to themselves! I get along great with people and have a friendly, curious nature. I don't bark much, which is pretty unique for a dog like me.
They say I’m in great health, and though I’m good with other dogs, I tend to prefer those who are my size or smaller. If you have a fenced yard, that would be a bonus, as Shiba Inus like me have a bit of a reputation as runners. My last home was with a breeder, where I was on my own for six months, so now I'm really excited to explore everything around me. I’d love a home where I can be close to my person and have plenty of new things to check out. Ready to meet? Let's go explore together!

**This dog was rescued from a breeding situation. Every dog is different, but here is some information on what bringing a breeder dog into your home can be like and some supports they may need to transition into their new life! While it can be challenging at first, it is incredibly rewarding to see these dogs grow and come out of their shells. Please give them a chance if you are able! https://resources.bestfriends.org/article/puppy-mill-rescue-dogs-transition-home-life
