COURTESY POST
Hello world, we are Oakley the Sheltie and Ava the Bichon! We are seeking a new home (hopefully together!) after our elderly owner experienced some health challenges. Our first mom loved us very much and hopes we can find a happily ever after. Here is a little bit about us.
Oakley is about 4 years old and is a great older sister to Ava. She is a bit more confident and provides emotional support and guidance to her shy sister in new situations. She loves to play fetch and will even bring a tennis ball back and gently drop it on your lap for another throw. She has the most adorable prance and loves to do zoomies with her sister. She knows sit and some basic obedience commands. Once her zoomies are done, she loves to cuddle on your lap and will gently paw at your arm for pets.
Ava is 1 ½ years old and looks like a powder puff princess but is really a rough and tumble girl at heart. Outside her favorite thing to do is jump into a deep snowbank and slide around on her back earning her the nickname Ava the snowball! She loves chewing on toys and will carefully de-stuff a plushie. She is more timid than her sister, but warms up quickly once she becomes familiar with new people and places. She LOVES treats and food and is very easy to make friends with. After a good romp she enjoys sleeping on the back of the couch on a high perch to observe her home.
Ava and Oakley are piddle pad and crate trained. They both could be housebroken with kind focused training and positive reinforcement. Both girls are able to walk on a leash, but would love a fenced in yard to zoom and play. Previously being country dogs, they do not have a good understanding of cars, and need to be on leash at all times around them.
